WARRIOR
A Dramatic Solo Play for a Mature Actress by
George Cameron Grant.

A Missing Son. A Waiting Mother.
A Silent Caller.
Every Mother's Day, Esther assumes the Warrior pose, surrounds herself with the few precious reminders of her son, and waits for the telephone to ring.
Decades earlier, David Abraham Diamond, a gifted young Columbia University student with dreams of becoming a great architect, walked out of his dormitory and vanished without a trace.
But Esther has never stopped believing he's alive.
Each Mother's Day, the telephone rings. And each year, the voice she desperately longs to hear is replaced by silence.
As Esther recounts the extraordinary expectations she placed upon her son, a complicated portrait emerges of maternal devotion, ambition, guilt and a love that may have become its own kind of prison.
WARRIOR is a haunting, psychologically layered solo play about a mother's enduring hope, the mysteries of disappearance, and the fragile boundary between unconditional love and possession.
